Why? |
These tests are designed to help identify any potentially harmful variants of COVID-19 at the earliest opportunity and to confirm on the 8th day that you are not infected with the virus. EXCEPTION: Fully vaccinated passengers under the UK vaccination programme who arrive the UK at least 14 days prior to taking thier vaccination and ordinary residents under 18 years of age at the time of arrival are exempted from quarantine. They only need to take Day 2 Test. Please NOTE you do not qualify if you visited France 10 days prior to your arrival in the UK. Other passengers from countries on the Amber list travelling to England from outside Ireland, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man collectively known as the common travel area of age must:

Testing in Quarantine |
Day 2 Test: You must take a COVID-19 test on or before day 2 of your quarantine period. The day of arrival in UK will be treated as day 0. This first test is designed to help identify any potentially harmful variants of COVID-19 at the earliest opportunity. Tests will be taken in your own accommodation. If you get a positive result from your day 2 test, you must quarantine for 10 days beginning the day after the test was taken (this means until day 13). Your household will also need to quarantine until day 13. If you get a positive result from your day 2 test, you do not need to take a test on day 8. Day 8 Test: You need to take a COVID-19 test on or after day 8 unless you got a positive result from your day 2 test. If you get a positive test result from your day 8 test you will need to quarantine until day 19. Your household will also need to quarantine until day 19. |

Ending Quarantine |
If you have quarantined for 10 full days (where day 0 is the day you took the test or had symptoms) and received a negative result to both your day-2 and day-8 tests, and you are well, you may leave the place where you’re quarantining. |

Travellers who are fully vaccinated (14 days or more prior to arrival) under the UK vaccine programme and ordinary UK residents under 18 years of age at the time of arrival. Transit Travellers from Amber List countries who will stay in England for less than 7 days must purchase this Test and quarantine until they get a negative test. Why? | This Test shortens the quarantine period of 10 days for anyone who arrives in England from countries on the Amber list outside the UK, Ireland, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man from Countries on the Amber list. The passenger can stop quarantining if the test result of Day 5 Test is negative. You must still have to complete the mandatory Day 8 Test even if your Day 5. Please note that some travelers (from countries on the Red list) cannot use the Test to Release scheme to shorten their isolation period. Why? | The PCR sample test is designed to confirm if you are infected with the virus and a negative result will enable you to obtain a COVID fit to fly certificate for travel out of the UK. Tests are turned around within 24-48 hours of receiving the sample at the laboratory. Please consult the government website of your destination on the suitability of this throat and nose swab test for your destination. Some destinations may require a swab or a test that is administered by a professional. Due to the frequent changes in specific country requirements A1 Global Testing is unable to provide specific guidance on this. |
